Gauche painted on paper cut outs with acid free adhesive backing. Mixed media cut outs 30” x 36”.
All four works are based on the landscape at Laguna beach CA, steep ridges with dark caves, clear horizons and ground.
The story is about this place at dusk with man made forms falling on site. Exploring simplified forms and patterns to communicate the landscape, for example land-horizon-sky in traditional familiar structure. And developing the scene with a sense of movement by introducing notions of man made forms falling, landing and scattered on site.
A story of man in nature, unplanned order and our place within it.
